VICE core error: Failed to save settings to default file.
The VICE was installed from the Flatpack, on Linux Mint 19 XFCE 64bit.
The settings file seems to be missing or an incorrect path is set in the manifest?

i think you should contact whoever made this "flatpack" (whatever it is)

it also sounds like you are using some kind of emulator frontend, which is the root of the problem here (the error message isnt from VICE)

Please post a link to the flatpack used.

Sorry, I have no special link.
VICE was installed from the flatpak section of the standard Linux Mint Software Manager.

i am closing this, it seems to be a packaging issue that we can not solve - and no further info is provided

According to the flatpak devs/maintainers, this now works after XDG basedir spec support was added to archdep.
