How we can populate value in the field based on a Sequence defined in DB for the same?

I want to use the sequence defined on the field in DB to be assigned when we create a NEW record from the VFRONT. For eg by default the Primary Key in table will have a Sequence been created to use the same whenever a record is created. But the problem is by default in VFRONT all the fields which are Primary key are required(*) and hence would raise a error while creating a NEW record. "Autocomplete from table will not" will not help. Has anybody found a way around it. Please share....thanks in advance
