I came across VeroRoute on another forum, and it looks to be extremely useful for prototyping. The posts in the other forum stated that in addition to importing netlists, they could be created within VeroRoute graphically. I created small multivibrator layout to test it, but I have not been able to figure out how to tie the components together. I've not found mention of this feature anywhere other than that forum. Does such a capability actually exist?

I found an additional outside forum post (from 2018) describing entering the netlist with slightly more detail. And I've actually been able to start a (single) net. However, every additional pin or trace I paint attaches to that first net, so I've not been able to create additional nets.

I did go through the tutorial again. The ability to edit nets is described in Tutorials 9 and 10, but only in the context of changing existing nets, not creating them. I don't see any reference to nets prior to tutorial 9.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Figured it out. For future reference:
    - netlists are created/edited solely using mouse and keyboard. There is no associated menu or dialog box.
    - See the "key/mouse" actions under the help menu for the specific keys/buttons combinations.
    - "P" will paint/unpaint a pin (on a device/wire) for the currently-selected net. If no net is selected, it will create a new one.
    - <space> will paint/unpaint a track (or track segment)
    - if a net is selected, pins and any track will be black.
    - non-selected nets will have an assigned color. Unless you force a color, described in the tutorial, colors are randomly and dynamically automatically assigned.
    - double-clicking on a clear area of the board will deselect all nets and parts. This will enable you to use the above keys/buttons to create a net. </space>

    With the above, general process:
    - deselect all nets.
    - paint one pin on the new net ("P")
    - paint another pin on the new net ("P"). A red dashed line between the pins will appear.
    - you can repeat this for additional pins on the net.
    - click "M" on the redline should create the track, or at least a segment of it.
    - with the net selected, you can click "M" points on the grid to add them to the net and guide the routing.

This might be a good tutorial to insert before the current Tutorial 9.

Somehow I missed that tutorial. Thanks.

And look at the bright side: I learned to do it by discovery!
    :)
