#588 Creating encrypted partitions with ext4 file system appears broken

In VC 1.26.28 (GUI version) creating an encrypted partition with an ext4 file ssytem on it fails consistently with the error message mkfs.ext4: Input-/Output error while writing out and closing file system" This goes for both full and quick format.

However, using ext3 instead of ext4 works with no problems.

I'm running Linux Mint Xia (22.1) which is based on Ubuntu 24.04LTS.
