    Hello,

I am running Windows 10 and I have used VeraCrypt to encrypt my System Partition.

When I try to boot into my system, instead of being asked for my password, I am shown a Recovery screen that displays

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired.
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
    Error code: 0xc000000f.

I find that I cannot boot into my system even with the recovery disk. When selecting the "Boot VeraCrypt loader from rescue disk" option, I am told "Authorization failed" despite entering the correct password.

Interestingly, my password does work when I select the "Decrypt OS" option.

Could anyone help me troubleshoot what might be the problem please?

    Thanks!

    What laptop are you using?
Are you running your system as UEFI?

The laptop is MSI. Do you need to know the specific model?
Yes I am running as UEFI.

The problem is known. See end of EFI/GPT discussion.

There are several ideas but there are several difficulties:
    1. At present moment audit of VeraCrypt code is in progress. We have to fix all notes from the audit.
    2. I do not have hardware to reproduce the problem.

Note: VeraCrypt is my hobby project only but I'm trying to do the best.

Got the same problem after Windows 7 regular updates this week. I could open System disk under Ubuntu, but repear, does not help at all. I want to try decrypt OS, but could not boot from the USB any more, need to dig it out why.
Before it works good for a few month...

Also, instead of ISO I have a ZIP file as resurection disk. So I create FAT32 USB dongle and put it there. It only works few times and then stopps (may be my Laptop issue)...

    System:
    MSI Laptop
Windows 7 + Ubuntu on UEFI
    SSD + HDD.

Note: ZIP is ok. UEFI rescue. Do not decrypt from the rescue if it is 1.19.
To start Windows 7 requires CSM enabled.

    Hi All,

Had the same issue as the OP and I found a fix which works with my machine.

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired.
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
    Error code: 0xc000000f.

    My setup:
    - Windows 10
    - HP Envy 700-230ea

The fix for me was simple. I went into the BIOS setup screen (which can be accessed from one of the options on the error message screen with the blue background) and found the section which shows the Boot Order. The Veracrypt Bootloader was at the bottom of the list under UEFI firmware so I changed it to the top so this is the first thing that boots. Restarted the machine and it prompted me for my password and PIM straight away.

It is important, even on legacy BIOS, that the VeraCrypt bootloader is the first thing that loads.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Bob
