Changing the Password on a hidden partition on a USB - PLEASE HELP

Alright so I'd like to change the password on the hidden partition of my USB drive but I do not want anything on it to be erased...
but when I enter the change the password option its asking for a wipe method.
is it a wipe method for the header? or for the entire partition?
and if its for the entire partition is there a way to change the password without erasing the data on it?
