I have a new Notebook and a strange problem with the VC Bootloader: It sometimes freezes when entering my password. That means:
Sometimes I can enter my password and everything works fine.
Sometimes I can enter a couple of characters of my password and then the screen freezes (does not react to any further keystrokes)
Sometimes I cannot even enter a single character, it shows “Password: “, but does not react to any keystrokes.
Sometimes I can enter a couple of wrong passwords (just for problem diagnosis), of course authentication fails, I can try again and at some (random) point when trying to type another password, the freeze occurs
I tried many times now, but the behavior seems absolutely random to me.
Some info about my configuration: Veracrypt 1.24Update4, UEFI-Boot, System Partition encrypted
I already tried the following things - without success:
Finishing entering the password despite the frozen screen (nothing happens, even after waiting some time)
Decrypting the partition and encrypting it again - same problem afterwards
Downgrade to VC 1.24Update2 (without decrypting fist and then encrypting again, i.e. using the partition encrypted with 1.24Update4)
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!
