hey, no i am not using bitlocker, i wouldnt use bitlocker hehe. It seemed to have worked, and only thing i can think of is cause i switched to legacy? vs uefi
1st night having the error, i decrypted the system, encrypted.
2nd night error decrypted
3rd night switch to legacy, encrypted and works
I may have also reverted a windows update, trying to install diskcryptors latest which failed and nearly destroyed my disk again, which is why i originally came to veracrypt, didnt realise diskcryptor was no longer managed till recently.

alright, i am able to reproduce this error, when force shutdown 'computer froze' error occurs, after error im forced to decrypt in windows 10 safe mode.... recovery doesnt work, any easier alternatives then decrypting and encryting the drive when this happens?

I would attempt to learn why your computer froze that is causing you to crash your PC by forcing the shutdown by holding the power button.
Once you decrypt your system, I would review the Windows Event Viewer for entries at or near the time your computer froze (not BSOD) to determine what is causing the issue.
Which antivirus and/or malware software are you using on your computer? There may be a conflict with VeraCrypt.

ok so i think i fixed another error which is the probable cause:
The maximum file size for session "ReadyBoot" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\Prefetch\ReadyBoot\ReadyBoot.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 20971520 bytes.
Which is what caused the crash dump to not log etc.
ao when i decrypted it i pretty much done a system restore to fiz the issue, i dont think i needed to decrypt it right?
I do not understand your question. You VeraCrypt decrypt system encryption in Windows safe mode. Then when you reboot, Windows can perform a auto repair. Correct?

Yes, this time it couldnt. so i done a system restore. I think i fix the problem hopefully. By looking at the event log viewer, thanks ill update if there are any more issues.
Also i do see the bitlocker service in services but it is disabled.

Ah ok. I think the bonjour service filled up the readyboot file or the multiple crash dumps, so this time i couldnt boot, hence the system restore. By increasing the ready boot file hopefully it will allow the system to boot after a crash. Thanks for the suggestion!

Given the issues you are seeing not related to VeraCrypt, I would consider backing-up my data to an external HDD, disconnect the external HDD from the PC, decrypt the system and perform a fresh install without keeping current data and settings.

Hey Enigma, yes i think you are right, i will give it another test, it is currently working and i uninstalled the bonjour service and fixed the "ready boot" issue. If it happens again i will probably do it.

Hi,
I can no longer use Veracrypt , i have the lastest version installed, i am getting a
BSOD -> fvevol.sys FAILED
It was working fine, until recently, i have tried un encryptying then re encrypting.
It was working fine up till 2 or 3 days ago, from possibly a windows update? Am i the only one experiencing this?
Encrypted to 12% -> Works Fine.
When i hit 100%, encryption it will not work, will test again but i am positive it will not work.

update strange works at 95 percent encryption, afraid to try it at 100% encryption ...
You have a typo in your first post. It should be fvevol.sys failed.
A quick google search shows fvevol.sys driver is related to BitLocker. Are you using BitLocker?

Windows patches are released at least once a month on the second Tuesday of the week.

i am getting errors from bonjour, i have no idea why its there but uninstalling it now.
the aystem could not load crash dump driver, crash dump initialiazation failed.
5874 errors from bonjour service mightve been from that

The bonjour is installed as part of iTunes for Windows.
