After setting up veracrypt i restarted as advised during the pre test.
My laptop would not boot up properly though, and it gets stuck on the acer welcome screen before eventually powering off.
I have the veracrypt rescue file saved on a usb stick as part of the set up process, but my laptop will not boot from this when i changed the boot order (pic attached). It also won't boot from a windows recovery disc.
There was a veracrypt boot option in the boot menu that is now gone (possibly as i hit restore defaults in an attempt to get it working again)
I have disabled secureboot as reccomended.
I note that i could not select 'hidden volume' nor 'entire hard drive' encryption as those options where 'greyed out' at the beginning of this process.
I switched to legacy boot and have made some progress.
Unfortunately it still doesn't recognise my usb stick. It says no bootable OS on usb stick.
My usb stick is new (64gb) and already pre formatted as FAT32. As part of recovery disc process it now has an EFI folder with subfolder 'boot' and veracrypt' on it. Nothing else.
Do i have to take further steps to make this a bootable usb? Do i have to convert to iso? Do i have to use Rufus app?
Annoying i wasn't given the option to create a iso recovery disc in the first place (as i was with Lonovo laptop). Instead i was asked to insert usb stick.
How do i boot using these files in the EFI folder?
