    Hi everyone,

I have just upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04 and now I can't mount/decrypt any volume. I have been using Veracrypt for a lot of years now and this is the first time I have experienced this issue.

It is relatively slow to start and the program asks the input of the administrator password many, many times even after entering the password correctly.

I have already reinstalled 1.24 and have even tried the version for 20.04 but to no avail.

Is this a 20.04 issue or have I missed something during the installation? Cheers.

I wonder if our issues are related. I am using the same Ubuntu you are.

Yes, @mike, ours are definitely related. I also have a dual boot system but that hadn't affected my VeraCrypt up to until I upgraded into 20.04 from 18.04. I don't use my Windows 10 partition, that much, though, but I have VeraCrypt on another PC with Windows 10. I have just accessed/mounted my drive onto that without any problems.

VeraCrypt would usually ask for the volume password and then for the admin/sudo password and the volume would be mounted after a few mins. Now, even if I enter the correct password, I keep getting asked to enter it again.

When I first launched VeraCrypt in 20.04, I noticed a significant lag and I assumed there was problem already. Cheers.

I have just found a solution!

Solution: Do not use Auto-Mount Devices; Mount by Select Device..., choose the proper device path (example: /dev/sdc1) and then click Mount. Enter the volume password and then the sudo password.

I have used the auto-mount option for more than 4 years now so I decided to do the longer route just a few minutes ago. With the auto-mount before, it took me about 5 mins to mount/decrypt on a USB 2.0. Now, with the Select Device... + Mount method, the decrypting took only 5 seconds! That's even faster when decrypting on a USB 3.0 in Windows 10!
