I have a Lenovo X1 that died. The entire drive has been encrypted. Is there anyway to plug the drive into another system and mount it so I can retrieve the data?

Install the OS disk as a secondary drive on another PC with VeraCrypt software installed. Then use the Mount Options button on the mount screen for password to checkbox the "Mount partition using system encryption without pre-boot authorization" and click OK.
Click Select Device button, select the Windows OS partition and click the OK button.
Select the drive letter to assign when mounted by VeraCrypt.
Click the Mount button.
Click the Mount Options button.
Select the checkbox for "Mount partition using system encryption without pre-boot authorization".
Click OK button which will return you back to the previous screen for entering the password and if you used a custom PIM that you can enter the correct value.
Hopefully the OS partition will mount to allow you to copy your data to another drive.
