Hi. I am fairly novice in my use and understanding of VeraCrypt.
I created a non-system partition for a external hard-drive with the intent of encrypting
the entire hard-drive for storage. I completed the volume creation setup as stated in the manual and could successfully mount the device in VeraCrypt. However upon completion of setup and whenever I plug the device into my computer I am prompted by the following ;
Are these 'errors' normal for a Vera encrypted device ? Can I continue to use as normal even with these prompts / i.e ignore the prompts? I just wanted to double check that there was nothing inherently wrong before starting to use my new device just in case I've set it up incorrectly. Also if there is anyway to disable these errors that'd be great to know.
Many thanks!

The reason for the format prompt is due to Windows now sees the dismounted VeraCrypt volume as RAW device/partition. Hence, Windows is wanting you to format the drive. Do not format!
To prevent the Windows from prompting you to format the drive or partition, use Windows Disk Management with the VeraCrypt volume dismounted and remove the assigned drive letter.

Enigma2Illusion, Thank you for the reply.

Am I correct in removing assigned drive letter thus ;
Thanks again for your help.
Correct. Proceed with removing G from the drive/partition with VeraCrypt volume dismounted.
