I used to use VeraCrypt a couple years ago, but eventually stopped using it because I didn't need any files encrypted anymore. Before I uninstalled it, I decrypted everything.

However I've just come across some files that I apparently forgot to decrypt. he files have the lock icon on them, and when i go to advanced properties, the "Encrypt contents to secure data" is checked and cannot be unchecked (if unchecking and clicking Apply, it says "an error occurred applying attributes to the file: ..."

I did a search and it seems I still have an .pfx file that I know how to do with encryption, but I can't figure out how to use it to decrypt the files. I installed VeryCrypt again, but can't figure out how to decrypt the files with it as well. When I try to open the file with VeraCrypt it says I don't have permission to open the file. I tried adding my current user account to the security permissions, but that doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Can someone give me a hand and let me know how I can use VeryCrypt to restore my files?
