    I formatted a whole external USB hard disk with VeraCrypt.
    I can mount it (in 64bit Win7) system and transfer files without any problems.

    For safety reasons I wanted to make a backup of the volume header.

    After clicking on menu

    Tools--->Backup volume header

    I am prompted for the password. After entering it a popup appears:

    Error: Incorrect volume size
    Source BackupVolumeHeader:10395

    Whats wrong?

    Again: Mounting and using the extrnal hard disk works without any problems for a long time.

    How can I repair this volume size error?

    Peter

    Hi,

    This error should never happen and it is returned only when VeraCrypt UI application fails to get the size of the hard disk. What version of VeraCrypt are you using?

    Can you try start VeraCrypt UI as an administrator (right click on VeraCrypt shortcurl and select "Run as an administrator") and perform the backup again? Maybe there is some configuration on your machines that doesn't allow normal application from querying the disk size.

    I have the same issue too and I'm using Veracrypt version 1,23-Hotfix-2 (64-bit), the difference is that I'm unable to mount my pendrive (both the normal and hidden volume) . please how do i get my stuffs out ? is there a way to decrypt it cos i dont have backup? Thanks in anticipation of a swift and favorable response

    Hi - I've had the same problem. I managed to recover all my data from a bust hard drive. Everything seems to be there. But then when I try to mount it in Veracrypt in a different computer, it tells me "Error:incorrect volume size Source: MountVolume:9177". I saw various people have raised this as a problem, but has anyone ever managed to resolve it?
