hi. i have external usb sata adapter with external power source from wall socket, and i have USB suspention disabled in windows settings. this adapter have no problems at all except when i try to use it with some hdd with veracrypt volume on it.
i've tried to use hdparm application to prevent hdd from sleep, but still getting auto-dismount of veracrypt volume on it from time to time when veracrypt try to do something with volume after hdd goes to sleep .
after this auto-dismount message hdd is still works fine in windows, and i can remount veracrypt volume at once.
there was no file system of veracrypt volume corruption by far, but there was file corruption once.
so i was thinking if hdd or usb to sata adapter was made like this and its wake up take too much time for veracrypt to wait, so veracrypt dismounts volume, maybe there is some settings in veracrypt, some timer that can be tweaked up a little so veracrypt was not so impatient? if there is none, maybe it is bossible to make it in the future version?
win 8.1 veracrypt 1.23 hotfix 2.
