Hi. So the other day I created 40GB encrypted container - 39GBs hidden volume and 1GB outer. First I put several gigs of data to hidden volume (around 20GB) then I put accidentaly way over 1GB of files to the outer volume so I damaged the hidden volume.
So now probably my only choice is to recover data using R-studio / EaseUS / Recuva / Photorec. But the problem is when I mount the volume in VeraCrypt it’s not visible in EaseUS nor Disk Management in Windows, it’s only visible and accessible in Windows Explorer. So I cannot scan and recover data from it with EaseUS because for some unknown reason to me it can’t detect the mounted drive. Only Recuva, R-Studio and Photorec were able to see and recognize the mounted drive and recover some stuff from it.
Although Recuva, R-studio, Photorec helped me recover most of my files it wasn’t really what I expected – files were without their original names and sorted in numerous random folders and R-studio was even giving me multiple errors that it cannot recover files because of the demo version limit on FAT files or something along those lines. (Disk was created using FAT32). So I want to give it at least one more try with EaseUS and see what results I can get from it as well.
So my question is, is there a way to repair or mount the volume so it can be seen in windows Disk Management and (or at least) in EaseUS as well so I can scan it and recover files?
Again mounted drive is visible (and accessible only when formated) only in Windows Explorer but not in Disk Management and EaseUS.
I tried to repair it by mounting it with backup header embedded in volume but that didn’t work. Also tried to repair file system in VeraCrypt GUI but that didn’t work also. (made a backup of file container in that case)
So is there a way to make it somehow accessible with EaseUS so I can recover files with this software too?
I included some screenshots so you can see what I'm talking about. (my OS language is Slovak but you'll get what my problem is)
First is mounted damaged hidden volume which is not accessible and not recognized by EaseUS and WDM: https://ctrlv.cz/HesW
Second is mounted formatted copy of the file container, fully accessible but still not recognized by EaseUS and WDM: https://ctrlv.cz/MvYM
And this is what I get when I try to access the mounted damaged volume in Windows Explorer (pics taken from another topic of this forum because of the english language): https://ctrlv.cz/nhX4 https://ctrlv.cz/XaXv
