I have a problem with the versions d and e.
The icon of the program, the container and header files will not display properly in my windows acoounts.
Only the admin account shows correctly the disk with lock; the normal user account shows a little white paper with a miniature in it.
In addition, the icon is too colorless.
It is possible to delete the files by mistake, because you can not see properly on explorer background.

    Can you solve the problems?

    My system:
    Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit

    With best regards

    Mein System:
    Win7U, 32bit

    Thanks for reporting this.
For the colorless icon issue, what is the color depth you are using? It is recommended to use True Color (32 bit).

I'll try to reproduce the non admin issue to understand what's happening.

    Thanks for your fast reply!
In another forum I had posted two screenshots.
Can I do that here also?
(One photo says more than 1000 words ;-)).

    Regards

Yes, you can post screenshots directly here by using the "Add Attachments" link near the "Post" button. Since you can only post one attachment, put the screenshots in a zip file.

    Sorry, that was my mistake!
Here are my screenshots - and I use True Color 32bit.
But I think it does not work with the upload (zip-File) oYo

In moment I have solved my problem as follows:

    1st. Step

    User account:
In my useraccount I work with VC portabel and about “System settings => standard programs” I have defined to open hc-files with VeraCrypt.exe (portabel) as standard.
The icons will shown now correct in useraccount.

    2nd. Step

    Admin account:

In Admin account I have VC installed - only for Admin account!!
Thereafter, the icons there also are properly shown (probably because of registry entries)

    3rd. Step

With the tools “Resource Hacker” and “Extman” I changed your standard icon in a dark/strong icon (VeraCrypt.exe, Registry).

    4th. Step

After that I deleted the installed version.

The icon view is now the same at all accounts and the icon is very good to see – a lot of personal work for a small program ;-).

I hope it helps other users.

But better will be another icon in next versions and/or find and fix the bug.

Thank you for your feedback, this can be helpful to others.
I still don't understand why the icon is different depending on the user account. Did you use the standard VeraCrypt installer or since the beginning you are using the portable version?

The icon itself is lacking the support of different resolutions and color depths. We'll try to provide a better icon in the next releases.

    Hi,

    very nice.

    To your question:

First, I used the portable version.
Here were the first problems with the icon.

Before I had used VeraCrypt - there was no problem (e.g. TrueCrypt).
All programs shows their own icon correct.

Now I will see frequently in your download-thread in hope of a better design.
