Hello!

I've been trying to learn some more details about how the partitions created by VC work and I haven't found much specific information. How do you tell if the filesystem is good or if the freshly formatted VC partition is in order? I checked the FAQ's in the documentation but most of those refer to Win users. Most of the options in the docs are for NTFS use cases.

I am asking because the check fs option in the menu doesn't tell me much, if I go to GP disks it shows absolutely nothing (doesn't show any filesystem type). I picked full format under options and chose ext4 so I was expecting it to show as ext4 under GParted, and it doesn't recognize it as such. However, it seems to work so far: can mount/dismount the VC volume, copy files etc.
Additional info: I have a couple of partitions on an external drive and chose one of them for full non-system encryption when I created the VC volume.

Is there something I'm missing or something I should read up on? If you have any input, that would be much appreciated!
