Have been using VeraCrypt for some time now with no issues, then suddenly when I try to mount the drive I'm told the device is Read-Only & now I can't access my files. And yes, the last time I had successfully used it I dismounted properly.
Is there any way I can unencrypt and access my files? I don't mind unencrypting the drive, I just don't want to lose my work.

Hi Jonathan,
Per the private message exchange, the issue is likely a device problem that caused the read-only to be set on the device.
Per our exchange, please provide the user community with the specific OS version and VeraCrypt version.
VeraCrypt is user community supported for assisting other users. Hence, you may not get answers to your questions or issues.
Can you mount the VeraCrypt volume using the Options button and enabling "Mount volume as read-only"?
This should allow you to copy your data to another location or another VeraCrypt volume.
You can Google search based on your platform to get answers to the read-only issue.
Example: windows read-only issue
Google search on the USB device being set to read-only. XYZ is the brand. Then try the specific model.
Google search example: XYZ set to read-only
