I want to use VC to encrypt a drive on a dual boot system, that I routinely use Macrium Reflect to backup, how can I (a newb) safely set this up?

veracrypt and backups:

I own a laptop with a hdd and a SSD, it came with win 10 on the SSD which I have never really touched. I need to start using the win 10 is for stuff that only works on it, but don't want it to have visibility into the other drive where I have a customized privately setup win 8.1.

So I need to full disk encrypt the drive with the 8.1 OS, and i am not sure how to set it up right.

Second, I routinely back up the OS using Macrium Reflect, and have heard it's tricky to almost impossible to backup stuff when Veracrypt is involved. Is there a newb-friendly guide, or easy way to safely set this up so I can continue to use Reflect to back up the OS?
