    Hello everyone,

this technical topic might be written somewhere else, but I failed to found it.
I post this technical office since I am ecountering on big bug in writing on a expernal USB fard drive.

I am moving form truerypt to veracrypt. For backing up my files I have used for years a DOS batch whic uses NTbackup.
This script back up all my files into a unique NTbackup file. This file is stored on a crepted partition (hosted on a Hard drive USB or just a USB SSD). No problem ancountered using Truecrypt since up to yesterday.

I Formatted the Expernal Hard Drive with Veracrypt and used the very same DOS batch script. I enclunter a problem on different support when arriving to the size about 5,8 Gb (the full size of the backup is 160Gb).

I made many trials to understand where the problem might be. I also used veracrypt "working as trucrypt" on a truecrypt formatted USB. The back up interupts in the size about 5,8Gb.

Not I am trying again to use truecrypt for back up , and I have no problem at all (on the original partition). Therefore I suppose Veracrypt has a serious writing limit of 5,8 Gb for a unique file (such as a ntbackup file should be).

Is this a known bug or is it a new bug?
Running leatest version of VeryCript on Windows 7 Ultimate. External Drive formatted with VeraCrypt/Truecrypt (depending on the trial) with NTFS file system.

I will be glad if some guru would be so kind to help me understand the situazion.

    Regards
    Alessandro

This is an append may help you understand more.

The trial I am doing now , and It seems working fine: I am using VeraCrypt to read a partition on my Laptop and TrueCrypt to write the NTbackup file on the external USB drive.
