    Hello,

a few days ago my PC crashed for some reason. When it crashed, I had two VeraCrypt volumes mounted. Since then, when I start Windows, the volumes and files are accessible right away, without VeraCrypt running.
So, the files are no longer encrypted and I'm not sure what to do now. The volumes are 190 GB in total. I'm kinda scared to loose the files when I start VeraCrypt now, should I backup the unencrypted files before?

Do you have any advice or explanation how this can happen and how to fix it?

    Thank you

Have you disabled Fast Start in Windows which is known to cause anomalies in VeraCrypt?

After applying the change, reboot your computer for the changes to take effect on your PC.

That solved it, thanks. I wasn't aware about that spooky fast start option, let alone that it keeps the decryption in memory/hiberfile. shocked
