    Hi
I have looked at many posts about this but not really found and answer to my Q.

When trying to encrypt my laptop the option "Encrypt the whole drive" is greyed out.
I can only pick "Encrypt the windows system partition".

So me Q is about security ofc.
If i pick "Encrypt the windows system partition, is my laptop just as safe as if i hade been able to use the option to Encrypt the whole drive.
Does this leave any "holes" in my security?

    Thanks

Hi Ensure you have selected correct partition, encryption of windows partiton is good enough depending on where your sensitive files and folders are kept if they are kept within the windows partiton then this will suffice.

    Hi
Well, my hard drive have 3 partitions. one EFI partition with 260mb space ( guess this is the boot section?) and one with 240gb C: windows, and a last one on 550mb with windows recover.
So i guess only the C: windows partition will be encrypted? And by this, no one will be able to bypass the security and it´s just as safe as "Encrypt the whole drive" ?

EFI is the boot partion, c:\windows is the working partiton and would have been enrypted on the fly the last partion will be a recovery os partition to reload can i ask which version of windows os are you using ?
Windows has lots of backdoors compared to linux do you have sensitive files and folders or you just want online security let us know so we can help further ?

Windows 10 is the worst, anyone using windows and expecting security well thats questionable

My setup is linux os as main os, i only use windows in virtualbox so dont need to worry about safety as much as far as windows 10 never installed it and probably nevr will.
