I encrypted my SSD (E) drive to an M drive so I could send my laptop in for repair. I got my laptop back and want to decrypt all the files (now on M Drive) back to the original E Drive location. When I highlight all the files in the encrypted M drive and try to move them to E, I get a pop-up error message that says: " Location is not available, E/: is not accessible, Parameter is incorrect." HELP!
    Windows 10,
    Veracrypt 1.24-update 7 (64-bit)

As the "E drive" (a partition?) is not encrypted using VeraCrypt, I assume that this is not a VeraCrypt issue. Nevertheless, I'll try to assist you. Please send a screenshot of the Windows Disk Management, showing all drives and partitions.

    Greets.

Thanks for replying. I did use VeraCrypt to to encrypt my drive and it worked.

I get it right, that you encrypted E: in place? Then, if you now want to permanently decrypt it again, you would click on "Select Device..." and select your encrypted partition. Then click "Volume Tools..." and choose "Permanently Decrypt...". Follow the instructions, and you're back to an unencrypted partition.

        Greets.

Sorry if I'm being dense, but I want to make sure I do this right and don't screw it up! Here's what I'm seeing when I select device

If you want to permanently decrypt your 1.8 TB partition, dismount your VeraCrypt volume, select the 1.8 TB partition via "Select Device..." button and use the respective functionality of the "Volume Tools..." button.

Then read the warnings, take precautions (namely file backup) and finally decrypt. That's it.

            Greets.

Here's the VeraCrypt window showing my E drive was encrypted to M drive.

Your partition E is mounted as drive letter M, if I get it right. So if you want to decrypt E again, you have to do as I stated in the post above.

I think I got it....I went back and made sure nothing was selected in the upper drive box and then selected the partition, it seems to be decrypting. Fingers crossed...thanks!

I just read further instructions on VeraCrypt's Documentation/Help webpage about "If the Volume is Device Hosted" (which I assume mine is) and I don't see the 'New Partition’ or ‘New Simple Volume’ when I right-click the area representing the storage space of the encrypted device as per the instructions.
