    Hi,
longtime veracrypt user just finally left msft and migrated to Linux.

have mounted a veracrypt encrypted disk, which was created in win 7.

it is working well with thunderbird, the combination used here for having emails as used, deposited to the disk which is encrypted when off-line.

closing thunderbird, but maintaining the disk as mounted in veracrypt, I only get errors when attempting to open folders for purposes of manually copying certain contents ( to another disk for backup purposes).

the error is always the same:

"folder contents could not be displayed."
"error when getting information from file" (and it shows the path to the file it is having trouble with"
    "input/output error"

    same problem 100% of tries.

I am fairly new and perhaps still just too ignorant, but could some kind soul tell me what they think is happening and how to correct it?

    many thanks!

ps no folder that has any data in it, on this disk, will allow me to manually open it to see any files. each one gives the same error per above, albeit with a filename and path to the particular fold I am trying to open. so the error is the same on each folder but the path is particular to that folder...and the file it says I am trying to read, I am not....the error is "choosing" the file that it identifies as a problem.
    again, thanks.
