Hello,

I have been using VeraCrypt for several weeks and created file containers on external back up disks.

I would like now to encrypt part of my PC disk. On drive C: I have 918 Gb with 717Gb free space, I I would like to encrypt for example 500 Gb out of 717 Gb free space

At step 3 of "Beginner's Tutorial", I selected "Encrypt a non-system partition/drive".
At step 5, I had to chose the partition, between

Hard disk 0 931 Gb
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1 260 Mb
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition2 16.0 Mb
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition3 C: 918 Mb
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition4 948 Mb
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition5 E; 11.4 Gb

1- It seems Hard disk0 / C: and E: cannot be selected with the assistant but since my disk only has 1 000 Gb capacity, I do not understand how I could have 260mb+16mb+918mb+948mb+11.4 gb
2- If I select \Device\Harddisk0\Partition4 948 Mb then I am at step 7 but when I click on Next , I do not get the step 8 "Encryption options" as in Beginner's tutorial, but "Volume creation mode" (not sure of the translation since I have it in french). So I hesitate to go ahead since it might start encrypt right away. I only want part of my frre space on my PC (ie 500 Mb) to be encripted and not all 948 Mb

Thanks for your help
