Hi there,

I have seen a similar question posted on this forum but it was left unanswered. I have a veracrypt-encrypted external hard drive and I would like to now remove the veracrypt encryption completely. I have found a how-to guide for Windows but this doesn't work on my Mac. On Mac there's not the option to click Volume -> Permanently decrypt. I have no problem with the hard drive being formatted in the processes if that's what's necessary.

I use Veracrypt 1.21

Any guidance greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue. I don't think the macOS client supports it. Full stop. I was able to do it from within a Windows VM, though.

wait, really? I also need to do this and don't have access to a Windows machine.
