    Hello!

I use macOS ver. 10.14.1 (18B75) with FileVault WDE and VeraCrypt 1.22 with container-mode encryption.
For security reasons I configured macOS to enter into hibernation mode after 5 mins of sleep and to forget FileVault key when hibernating. I mainly keep my data on USB stick which is encrypted as entire drive with VeraCrypt.

Now I insert the USB stick, mount the encrypted disk with VeraCrypt and work with it. My laptop goes to sleep first and then hibernates. I wake it up and enter FileVault password and. VeraCrypt shows the USB stick as mounted, but in fact it's not because usual OS dialog pops up saying the USB is not readable and suggesting to Initialize/Ignore/Eject the device. If I try to dismount the disk in VeraCrypt (with intention to remount it) it would crash the OS. The same happens sometimes if I try to shut down the OS - it would crash in the process. The same happens if I try to remount the same device. So it's almost impossible to escape from this state without crashing the OS.

At the same time VeraCrypt with a mounted device survives entering into sleeping mode and recovering from it perfectly. But hibernation with dropping the FileVault key brings it into this unstable state.

The only way I can think of to prevent this is to set VeraCrypt to force-dismount all disks just before hibernation. But I haven't tried yet and not sure it works if the OS is already in sleep mode.

I suggest that it should be dealt with somehow in future versions of VeraCrypt. It's probably impossible to have the disks mounted back after recovering from hibernation. And even if it is possible - it's a question for discussion if it's OK from security perspective. But at least VeraCrypt should catch the situation and not crash the OS.

    Thanks and Cheers!

I am currently experiencing this myself. I'm not sure that it's a complete match, but the waking up and crashing is causing me problems. I also don't seem to be able to get the computer to eject the drive as I would like and resort to shutting the whole thing down for the purpose of removing the drive. I would appreciate some effort at addressing this. I don't like my computer crashing. If further details are required I would certainly be willing to provide any information requested.

    Thanks.
