I have a 1.26.7 64-bit VeraCrypt installed on my Windows 10 and I'm trying to execute a portable 1.25.9 as it is recommended here and implied it would work: "you can use a version of VeraCrypt prior to 1.26 in portable mode since you cannot have two different installations of VeraCrypt installed on the PC at the same time"
However, when I run the extracted portable version's VeraCrypt.exe, I get a message specifically saying that running a portable version while I have an installed version is impossible and that I should uninstall the installed version first.

So, said instructions on the linked forum message seem to be incorrect.

Thank you for discovering that you cannot run the portable version on a PC with the VeraCrypt software already installed unless both are using the same version.

The documentation for Portable Mode did not include the restriction that portable mode could not be used if a different version of the VeraCrypt software was already installed on the PC.

I have updated the instructions to remove the portable version on Windows.
