I have setup my Windows 10 64 bit home edition with Veracrypt 1.24 update 7 64 bit. I am thrilled with how successfully it works, and I have put Veracrypt on an external backup drive too.
-Is there any way to accelerate OS bootup times? I have Windows 10 64 bit Home Edition as the sole
OS on a solid state drive, and it insists on bootup acceleration being turned off. I am aware
that the slow startup is due to encryption calculations via the password, but is there ANY way
to make my bootup time quicker, or not really?
Merry Christmas, everyone!

If your password is 20 or more characters, you can use a smaller PIM value which reduces the number of iterations performed on the hash to unlock your encryption key.
In other words, using less iterations on the hash you are trading-off the stronger security of the header which is used to retrieve your encryption key (master key) in order to achieve faster boot/mount times.
The audits performed on VeraCrypt explain the balance VeraCrypt is using between security and usability given computers consistently getting faster computing capabilities.
