I installed Vera Crypt on my laptop and was going to encrypt it. It was after test boot this "security boot fail" came up, the laptop is locked, what can I do? Its not encrypted yet. Have my EFI backed up on USB stick.

EDIT: I was able to access BIOS and there is secure boot enabled, cant disable it?! Anyway it started and in Windows a pop up with pre-test failed came up. Dont want to get my laptop unbootable.
What steps to use to get Vera Crypt going. Has something to do with Acer secure boot?

Yes, Secure Boot needs to be disabled to boot from a bootloader othan than stock. Its enabled by default, to prevent pc from booting malicious code. VeraCrypt though is very popular and widely used so it remains safe to do so. Once you disable secure boot, then boot back to windows and re-run pre-test. It should then ask you for your password and PIM (If set) like normal instead of error.

Note: Secure Boot needs to also be disabled to boot from rescue disk you created, so do not re-enable secure boot if your pc is still encrypted with VeraCrypt.

Also Secure boot can only be enabled if your boot mode is set to UEFI. I am not sure, but I think that if your boot mode is legacy then Secure boot is disabled since that wasn't invented when legacy was out (Secure Boot is new, used with UEFI). If you are booting legacy, you shouldn't have this error.

When I tried booting legacy mode when my pc was encrypted, it just say at authorizing... for hours with no success. So do make sure you are booting UEFI for security (May or may not work with legacy, depending on your computer).
