I clean-installed Windows 10 Enterprise x86 (anniversary ed.) on my tablet pc.
When I try to create an encrypted partition (ntfs) with VeraCrypt, at formatting it, the Wizzard presents an error:
The parameter is incorrect.
Source: volTransformThreadFunction:2744
Any clue what could be the problem here?
Tia!

Hi,
I get the same error message and wonder if there is a solution for this yet?
The problem occured during in-place encryption of a volume on a WD My Passport Ultra using Windows 10.
At 99.795% of the encryption the following error message occurs:
*Error: Content of one or more sectors on the disk cannot be read (probably due to a physical
defect).
The process of in-place encryption can only continue when the sectors have been made readable again.
...
...
Do you want VeraCrypt to write zeroes to unreadable sectors?*
When trying to write zeroes to unreadable sectors the following error message
is thrown by the operating system (I assume, based on the language of the message): Hardware error: Source: volTransformThreadFunction:2744.
And then VeraCrypt tells me, that this error has prevented the program from resuimg the encryption process.
After reading on this board for answers, I assume that the problem might be caused by WD Unlocker,
a tool for the encryption of drives by WD that is apparently located in a hidden volume on the disk.
I think that VeraCrypt tries to encrypt/write zeroes over the hidden volume which causes the error.
Does that sound plausible?
Is there a way to finish the encryption or revert the whole process?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I've got the solusion for volTransformThreadFunction:2744
You shouldn't give the folder/directory address only. First, create a file.txt in your desire location and then select this file.txt as the source location. Now VeraCrypt will be able to format the location using the file.txt
That's all.
Sincerely,
Reza
