If we need more than AES-256, we dont need more a crypto jokes from NIST. And we have Serpent :-)
For post AES-256 age we can look for solutions from Schneiers troop. Before then, therefore quantum computers ~2035, we can further fix VeraCrypt, make win-equivalents packages for Linux/*nix, suppoort for GPT and optimizing crypto-flow for SSDs.
Before 2025, AES-512 is petty.
