Cannot dismount without closing all Windows Explorer windows

Windows 10, latest version of VC.

I cannot dismount a volume (without forcing) unless every Windows Explorer window is closed. As soon as each is closed (no matter what it is currently browsing), dismount is fine.

Is there any way around this? Terribly annoying.

Nothing VC can do if 3rd party software interferes. It's up to MS to make Explorer stop to interfere with VC volumes.
