I have a dual boot system. I created a volume on the second (non-OS) hard drive from within Win10 and it worked fine. Then one time I opened this volume from withing Ubuntu and it opened just fine. The next time I booted into Windows and tried to open the volume I got the "incorrect passowrd" error. I tried 3 times, so I am quite sure I was entering the password correctly. So I restarted and booted into Ubunut and the password still works from within Ubuntu.

What happened, and more importantly, how can I fix this? I did notice while mounting from within Ubuntu that VeraCrypt asks for the volume password then the OS admin password. Could that be a part of the problem?

A slight mismatch in the mounting parameters and settings can cause vastly varying behaviour between Windows and Ubuntu. Make sure the setting and parameters of the mount but also of VeraCrypt are the same - take screenshots.

To be sure about the password, maybe store it in a txt file and insert it into VeryCrypt by copy and past.
