I am having an issue with Veracrypt. It occurs on my windows 11 pc and windows 10 laptop.
These are the steps that result in the issue: create volume -> file container ->Type Standard -> AES & SHA-512 -> 296GB -> Large Files: Yes -> exFAT, Default cluster, Quick format "checked", Dynamic "not checked" -> Click on format.
Progress bar immediately goes to 100% and then it doesn't finish/complete. When hovering mouse over VeraCrypt application window loading symbol next to mouse pointer shows.
I waited for 2-3 hours on my laptop and it was still doing this (with my 296GB external hhd), so I assume its broken. Also, on my pc and laptop, when I click to abort it/close VeraCrypt and then try to open the drive on Windows file manager, file manager becomes "not responding" and screen behind window goes white.
Currently, I am attempting to do a normal encryption/format (not quick) on my 465GB external HHD, so I'll post an update as to whether that works.

Thanks!
EDIT: Looks like I will just need to use normal format: https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/discussion/general/thread/09bb41a451/
