MicroSD Card Becomes Read Only - Can't Modify or Erase

The MicroSD card was working fine for months with Read and Write permissions until one day it became read only. The disk container was formatted NTFS and Write access on Mac was provided by OSXFuse.
The card is now Read Only on both Windows and Mac even though the Mount As Read Only option is not selected. Have tried multiple methods to get around this but nothing works. Decided to backup data to external drive and format to original state.
Have not been able to format, repair, or erase disk with; dd, fdisk, diskutil, Disk Utility, DISKPART and receive permission errors. Need to either enable Write Access again or reformat to original state.
The Disk is a fully encrypted whole disk volume and only accessible via VeraCrypt. I believe the permissions must have something to do with the way it has been encrypted and why I get Permission Denied on virtually every tool that attempts to modify it. It is the VeraCrypt volume that became Read Only so everything above refers to that.
