at least I could decrypt the drive again by using "Volumes -> Resume Interrupted Process" and then choose "Decrypt" ("Permanently Decrypt..." failes because the drive is not fully encrypted yet.).
Now I have access to my data again and I will do a backup and a fresh formatation and then try the encryption again...
But is there anyone who could tell me, what the error messages exactly means?
Thanks

It appears you have a defective drive or a drive that is failing.
Check the Windows Event Logs for errors on the drive on the date and time you attempted the disk encryption.
Some drive manufactures have disk health utilities to check a drive. However, a drive that is starting to experience problems may pass the health checks.

Hello everyone,
I tried to encrypt an external HDD with VeraCrypt 1.24, but after 3,5% this error occured (01.jpg):
Source: volTransformThreadFunction:2769
When I try to resume the encryption the same error occurs.
If I try to decrypt it again, this error occurs (02.jpg):
Source: MountVolume:8424
The password I typed in is 100% correct.
Is there any way I can solve this problem or are my data completly lost now?
I please for help.
Thank you
Best regards
Chris
