    Hello there ...
Just encountered that a 192 MB folder which I copied to my veracrypt-encrypted drive, uses 11.8 GB on there (see attached screenshot).
I understand that disk sizes of folders with many subfolders in them are slightly higher, but more than 60 times higher seems weird, doesn't it? On the original (NTFS-)disk, the same folder uses 227 MB (1.2 times higher).
    What am I doing wrong?
(1,4 TB USB drive / exFAT / Serpent / Normal)

    Thanks alot - 0range

I've never seen anything quite like this, but rather than just looking at the whole disk, I'd suggest examining a few subsets of the folders on the disk to see if this phenomenon applies across the board, or if it is confined perhaps to just one folder, or even just one file. Examine each half of the folders in the Z: root and see if both groupings show the same size disparity as you've noted for the whole disk. That would be my starting point to see if the phenomenon is localized or general. If you have a file/folder comparison utility (like BeyondCompare), that might also be useful for comparing the copied files to the originals. My guess would be that you have an isolated case of corruption, but that's just a guess.

Thank you, Gary, I'll have a deeper look later and let you guys know what I'll have found out.
This far, I can tell that all folders on the encrypted drive need (between fairly and significantly) more disc space, the above one (with an extensive amount of subfolders and small files) being an extreme example.
