    hi,

i tried to install veracrypt on fedora 26 kde version and the gui version would not install:

    WORKSTATION:root@workstation:[~/veracrypt]: bash veracrypt-1.21-setup-gui-x64
Verifying archive integrity... 100% All good.
    Uncompressing VeraCrypt 1.21 Installer 100%
QStandardPaths: wrong ownership on runtime directory /run/user/1000, 1000 instead of 0
    Unknown option 'caption'.

i tried with a root login shell :

    WORKSTATION:ghislain@workstation:[~]: su -l
    Mot de passe :
    WORKSTATION:root@workstation:[~]: cd veracrypt/
    WORKSTATION:root@workstation:[~/veracrypt]: bash veracrypt-1.21-setup-gui-x64
Verifying archive integrity... 100% All good.
    Uncompressing VeraCrypt 1.21 Installer 100%
QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-root'
    Unknown option 'caption'.

    another try

    WORKSTATION:ghislain@workstation:[~/Téléchargements/veracrypt-1.21-setup/veracrypt-1.21-setup]: su -c veracrypt-1.21-setup-gui-x64
    Mot de passe :
Verifying archive integrity... 100% All good.
    Uncompressing VeraCrypt 1.21 Installer 100%
QStandardPaths: wrong ownership on runtime directory /run/user/1000, 1000 instead of 0
    Unknown option 'caption'.

so it have issue, the cli version went fine but the gui refuse to install.

    best regards,
    Ghislain.

    fedora26 KDE flavor.

Same problem here on Kubuntu 17.10.
The installation aborts with the message:

Verifying archive integrity... 100% All good.
    Uncompressing VeraCrypt 1.21 Installer 100%
    Unknown option 'caption'.
Press Return to close this window...
