    Hi all,

I have been using the software for years (after TrueCrypt vanished). I use it as a member of a works council to hide highly confidential documents from third parties (including sysadmins and our employer) by using an encrypted container.

Recently we got new computers with Windows 10 – 1903. Since then, even with admin rights, I can't install Veracrypt anymore. No matter which version I use (1.24 or earlier), the installation always breaks with the message "System cannot find the specified file. Source: DoRegInstall:1323" .
Maybe, it has something to do with the registry entry "Software\Classes.hc", as this is the last line before the installation stopps.

Using VeraCrypt portable as admin is unfortunately no solution, because this account has no rights for the needed network drive.

So now my question: How can I install VeraCrypt as admin so that my normal user can open the encrypted container again?

Many thanks in advance for the support

    Klaus

    Hi all,

due to some hints, the reason was found: Our Anti-Virus-System identified the modification of the registry as an attack and blocked it .... unfortunately without notification. After deactivation the protection for 5 minutes, the installation went well.

    Best regards,

    Klaus
