Hi. I have a technical question that I couldn't find a clear answer for.
Imagine a scenario: I have a modern computer, so a one with SSD and UEFI. This computer has operated for some time and has unencrypted windows installation (1 big system partition). That means that some files were deleted along the way. We can assume that empty space on SSD is not truly empty.
Now I install VeraCrypt and encrypt system partition. How is this empty space handled? Will VeraCrypt wipe it all or should I shred data on the disk before encryption to be sure?
