Hi

I've been using Veracrypt (exFAT container file is hosted on a Linux box but the majority of the files are from Windows) for many years and it works very well.

Recently, and I don't think I've made any changes that would affect it, I'm having problems saving files after a period of inactivity. It's not a timeout in the sense that the container's still mounted but, for example, if I have an Excel (or Word or pdf) file open which I've saved in the morning, I return to it in the afternoon, make a change and hit save and all of a sudden I get errors. At this point, I look at the rest of the contents of the volume and I can see the files but attempting to open any of them gives me errors that they're corrupt.

I then close all my Windows applications that might have used the container but it refuses to let me dismount it cleanly i..e. the only option is to force the dismount - which obviously I don't like doing on a regular basis.

Sorry this explanation is a bit long but it's a difficult thing to explain.

Thx
