Recently had to do a hard disk recovery from a quick format and retrieved the veracrypt container file from the hard disk successfully- as well as pretty much all the other data on the disk. The file also appears to be the correct size (about 250 gbs)
However, it seems the container no longer mounts- failing out with the included image. I'm sure the password is correct and have tried the 'Use backup header embedded in volume if available' mount option.
Any help would be appreciated- even if it is just letting me know i'm out of luck!
Try to mount without mounting the filesystem (mount options). If you're "lucky", the main header or backup header are still intact, but the internal filesystem got damaged, which could then be searched using data recovery software.
