first, thank you very much for providing an alternative to TrueCrypt! I recently switched from TrueCrypt to VeraCrypt and it looks like nearly everything is working on my Windows 10 machine. I have a SSD with the Windows installation on it and a 2nd HDD for my data. I encrypted both with the same password and activated the automount feature. Sometimes it does work and when I login to my machine the HDD is mounted, but sometimes I have to do it manually. That is working all the time though. Do you have any suggestion what I did wrong?
Thank you!

This issue can be caused by the fact that GUID that indentifies hard drives in Windows is not guaranteed to be always the same.
For such kind of situations, VeraCrypt provides a mechanism for Favorites called "Volume ID": when the option "Use Volume ID to mount favorite" is checked in the favorite configuration dialog, VeraCrypt will scan all disk and mount the one that has the given Volume ID (this Volume ID value is automatically filled when you add a volume to the favorite. If this field is empty, remove the favorite, and add it again).
Does the "Volume ID" feature fix your issue?

This feature is quite new and it went through some iterations to make it robust and less CPU hangry. Probably in the coming version this option will be turned on by default for newly added favorites.

Thank you! I just activated that option and restarted my computer a few times. It looks like it's working now.
Wouldn't it be better to have that feature activated by default?
Glad to see that it fixed your problem.

It looks like it didn't fix my problem unfortunately. I just had to manually mount my HDD again.
I see. Thanks for the answers!
This is strange because if the disk is connected, it should be detected and its Volume ID computed and matched with the favorite.
Version 1.22-BETA contains some changes that make the mounting of system favorites at boot more robute in some special configurations. It can solve your issue. You can get the installer for the latest 1.22-BETA2-Build6 from https://sourceforge.net/projects/veracrypt/files/VeraCrypt%20Nightly%20Builds/
I noticed that I used the "System Favorite Volumes" not the "Favorite Volumes" option. I changed that now. Maybe it'll work now.
Upon login I was asked to enter the password. Is there a way to do that automatically as I use the same password for both drives?
Maybe you missed my question @Mounir IDRASSI? :)
