    Greetings!
I have an error when mounting the encrypted disk
"Auto-mount failed due to one or more of the following:"

But I did not change the password and I did not change anything in the settings!
    Before that everything worked.

What can be done to improve the situation?

Try manually mounting using the option of embedded header backup in case the primary header has been damaged.

In the password field, enable display password to make sure your password is correct.

Thanks for responding to my problem :)
I enter the password correctly - I see in the field (turned on the display)
And how to execute "Try manually mounting using the option of embedded header" - I can not understand. I recently use the program ... Is there an instruction? Thanks in advance!

Were you able to mount the volume manually without using the backup header?

If not, in the password box in the right corner is the button called Mount Options. Click that button and select the embedded backup header checkbox.

put a tick in the menu as you said!
    did not help.
    is there another way?

I am assuming that you are using the default PIM and not a custom value for the PIM.

The last suggestion I have is did you make an external backup of the header before you were unable to mount the volume?

    Tools > Backup Header Volume

If yes, attempt to restore the external backer header on to the volume.

    Tools > Restore Header Volume

Otherwise, I do not have anymore ideas how to access the damaged encrypted volume.

Yes, I use PIM by default.
No, I unfortunately did not backup!
but how now to restore the external disk to its original state?
    can I simply format it?

    OK! Thank you.

I have the problem with auto-mount:
Auto-mount failed due to one or more of the following:
    - Incorrect password.
    - Incorrect Volume PIM number.
    - Incorrect PRF (hash).
    - No valid volume found.

When I try to mount my file manually, it works perfect. When I try this file to auto-mount there is always this error. Password is correctly typed in (copy n' paste).

Linux Mint 19, VeraCrypt 1.23, no special PIM.
