hi
i've encrypted a whole 2 tb external HDD with Veracrypt.
while doing so i did check "allow files bigger than 4gb".
The problem is that in reality i can't copy big files like system images that are more than 4 gb.
Do you know how to solve it or why it happens ?
thank you from ISRAEL
edit:
i've downloaded the latest vestion of veracrypt and tried to encrypt it again. i think it will be the same.
i'm using an updated windows 11.
if you want i will try to see how do i upload my system specs, i've also tried it on my ubutnu computer with the same results.
it's cool that you have forums.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Can you please report the filesystem of the volume? It should be NTFS or exFAT which both support files bigger than 4GB and VeraCrypt wizard ensures this when this option is selected.
Once the volume is created, VeraCrypt doesn't have control of the filesystem limitation.
In order to be sure, you can just manually format the volume as NTFS or exFAT through Windows and then try again the copy operation which should succeed.

NTFS is the best choice for Linux compatibility since it is usual enabled by default in popular Linux distributions. exFAT is also supported but additional packages usually need to be installed in order to activate it (e.g https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-mount-an-exfat-drive-on-ubuntu/)

TNX
thhe problem was me choosing larger files but with fat file system instead of exfat. now everything is fine.
the wizard may be confusing for beginners because there is an option to choose the fast filesystem after choosing "bigger than 4 gb"
hoping i'm clear
and thanks once more.
