I've been using VeraCrypt for years now.
Does anyone know a foolproof way to create a VeraCrypt volume on external drive in either Windows or Linux, and then be able to mount it on the opposite OS that you created it on?
E.G. Create VeraCrypt Volume on External Drive in Windows.. Boot up Linux and mount the external drive in VeraCrypt Linux. For me, it never mounts and always gives the Operation Failed text box.
Can anyone confirm that it's only possible to mount drives on the same OS that you created it on, or are there procedures to follow so it works?

VeraCrypt volumes and headers are operating system agnostic. As long as you choose a filesystem type that both operating systems are able to read and mount, you shouldn't have a problem.

Well that worked! I thought EXT4 would have at least mounted, even if you can't access it in windows.
I tried NTFS and exFAT and it worked for both.
