quite a while ago I have created a crypted container for some back-up data files.
However when trying to open now it jsut doesn't open anymore (and I know the correct password as I have safed it intentionally in my password safe...).
I always get the message wrong password or no Vera-Crypt Volume Source: MountVolume: 8424
I am lost and I hope you have a smart idea what the reason behind this could be and/or how I can decrpty the container again...
Many thanks!
Rolf

I have the same problem. Password is correct but it won't mount. I didn't change anything. Same computer and system. It did work a few days ago and now nothing...

Hi again, I wanted to follow up on my yesterday's post. I managed to open the container today. The only thing I noticed I did really slightly different was actually inputting my password. It has 120 characters and is a random symbol mash-up. I store it in what I consider to be a safe place but I have to copy the password because of how complicated it is. During the copying, I put it in notepad but because it's so long, it gets cut along the way and continues on the next paragraph so I have to press backspace at the end of the "line" to make it one long word otherwise just the first part of my password would copy to VeryCrypt. During that backspace press, I MIGHT have deleted one symbol, however, I am 100% positive I had 120 characters yesterday as well. So my above case has two theories, either I had the same problem like others and VeraCrypt trully didn't open the container for me when it should have, or I did input an incorrect password. If it's the second case, which I doubt, then yes, my stupidity, but I am writing this here just so you are extra careful to really input the password correctly and save yourself and others time with trying to look for more difficult solutions when it in theory could really be a password problem. However, I cannot confirm which one of these theories really is my case. Good luck guys.
