If I mount a VeraCrypt file container or device, is it safe to window format or chkdsk against the mounted object? I would assume so but I remember reading some where a while back that TrueCrypt does not recommend window formatting.

Hi, how can I use chkdsk for fully crypted system disk? If i use command "chkdsk /f c:" then OS will check disk after boot, but that is not possible (same as if I use MS antivirus offline scan after boot) . How can I repair crypted disk filesystem where is system (and also how run MS antivirus offline scan after boot)? In VeraCrypt (1.23hf2 x64) GUI I don´t see command for check/repair filesystem (here is screen of my menu) - I see GUI command only in other drives, not system crypted drive. Thank you for solution.

You can use check disk and Windows format on a mounted VeraCrypt volume.
In the VeraCrypt GUI, you can right click on the mounted volume and select check or repair filesystem which runs Windows check disk program.
Like always, thank you Enigma2Illusion.
